Ingredients:
- 1 pouch Hungry Boo Ghar Ki Daal
- 1 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
- 1/2 cup grated carrots
- 1/2 cup finely chopped spinach (optional)
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onions (optional, for added flavor)
- Salt to taste
- 2-3 tablespoons ground oats (for binding, you can use more if needed)
- Oil for shallow frying
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Mixture:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, grated carrots, chopped spinach, and chopped onions.
- Add the Hungry Boo Ghar Ki Daal to the mixture and mix well.
- Add a pinch of salt. Mix until all the ingredients are well combined.
-
Add the Ground Oats:
- Gradually add the ground oats to the mixture. The oats help bind the ingredients together, making it easier to form tikkis. If the mixture feels too wet, add more ground oats as needed.
-
Shape the Tikkis:
- Take a small portion of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Flatten it gently to form a tikki (patty). Repeat with the remaining mixture.
-
Shallow Fry the Tikkis:
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
- Place the tikkis in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- If you prefer a healthier option, you can also bake the tikkis at 180°C (350°F) for about 20 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
-
Serve:
- These tikkis can also be served as a filling in sandwiches or wraps for a wholesome meal.
