Daal Palak using Hungry Boo Ghar Ki Daal – hungryboo index

Ingredients:

  • 1 pouch Hungry Boo Ready Made Ghar Ki Daal
  • 1 cups fresh spinach leaves (palak), washed and finely chopped
  • 1/2 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ghee or butter
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  • Prepare the Spinach: 

    • Wash and finely chop the spinach leaves. Set aside.

  • Sauté the Vegetables: 

    • In a pan, heat ghee or butter over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
    • Add the finely chopped onion (if using) and sauté until it turns soft and translucent.
    • Add the minced garlic (if using) and sauté for another minute.
    • Add the chopped tomato and cook until it becomes soft and mushy.

  • Cook the Spinach: 

    • Add the chopped spinach to the pan. Stir and cook for about 2-3 minutes until the spinach wilts and is tender.

  • Add the Daal: 

    • Pour in the Hungry Boo Ready Made Ghar Ki Daal and mix well with the spinach, add a pinch of salt if desired. 
    • Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. If needed, add a little water to adjust the consistency.

  • Finish and Serve: 

  • Taste and adjust salt if necessary.
    • Serve the Daal Palak warm with soft roti, naan, or rice.
