Ingredients:
- 1 pouch Hungry Boo Makhni Gravy
- 10 baby potatoes
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder (optional, for color)
- Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Potatoes:
Wash and peel the baby potatoes. Prick them lightly with a fork to help them absorb the flavours.
Boil the potatoes until they are soft but not falling apart. Drain and set aside.
Gently fry the Potatoes:
In a large pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add the boiled potatoes and gently fry them until they are lightly golden on the outside. This gives them a nice texture that kids will love. Remove the potatoes and set aside.
Prepare the Gravy:
In the same pan, add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
If using, add turmeric powder and stir briefly.
Pour in the Hungry Boo Makhni Gravy and mix well. Bring the gravy to a gentle simmer.
Add the Potatoes:
Gently add the fried potatoes to the gravy, stirring to coat them well.
Lower the heat and cover the pan. Let the potatoes cook in the gravy for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to soak into the potatoes.
Garnish with fresh cilantro and Serve the dum aloo with soft roti, naan, or a small serving of rice.
